Who GHC 9-1-1 Is

Greater Harris County 9-1-1 Emergency Network is a separate governmental entity (“A Body Politic”) known as a Communication District authorized to implement and administer 9-1-1 service in certain defined areas…having all powers required to carry out the district’s mission.
 
(Chapter 772, Texas Health and Safety Code)
 
It is an administering and coordinating agency that works with all jurisdictions and public officials within its territory; a provider of the communication link between the citizens needing emergency assistance and the agencies who respond to their emergency.
